IAMSU: "I Heard That Beat Totally Different" (Interview)

Very seldom do you have an artist come in for an interview, and they have more questions for the interviewers. Such a rare occurrence took place when the Bay's own IamSu sat with Frannie Kelley and Ali Shaheed Muhammad for NPR's Microphone check. Listen as Su talks about having his mom on tour with him, working with the legends E40 and Too $hort, and the importance of positive energy.

Joe Freshgoods recently chopped it up with the Some Jams Podcast

Got the pleasure to briefly meet the talented Joe Freshgoods during the 2013 SXSW music festival. I didnt know particularly what he did, but knew he stood out for some reason. I later found out that he made clothes but still didnt know much else until recently when i stumbled across this insightful and inspiring interview he recently did with the "SOME JAMS" podcast.

What Happened, Miss Simone? (Official Trailer)

On June 26, Netflix will release "What Happened, Miss Simone?" a documentary about one of the world's greatest artists, Nina Simone. We're given a look into the life of Nina Simone through her daughter's testimony alongside never before seen interviews from Simone herself. As Misunderstood begins to play in the background, her daughter states, "she was a revolutionary." It's chill inducing. Easily the most distinguished and distinct voice of her time, Simone used that voice to speak, or sing, against the racial and political corruption of the '60s.

"How can you be an artist and not reflect the times?" asks Nina Simone. Spoken like a true rebel.

Everything You Need To Know About Sonny Digital

Atlanta producer Sonny Digital recently sat with The FADER for their "Everything You Need to Know" series. The hit maker behind ILoveMakonnen's Tuesday and 2 Chainz' Birthday Song talks about everything from Club 516 to his Nigerian upbringing. The video is only about 4 minutes long and surprisingly entertaining (Sonny Digital takes second in my book behind Danny Brown as the funniest in the game).

Chief Keef, "Sosa Chamberlain" (Official Video)

Stop everything. Chief Keef has dropped visuals to my favorite song off of his most recent mixtape "Sorry for the Weight," Sosa Chamberlain. Before the Chicago native drops gem such as, "I came and the game, and you know I changed it," he gives a quick breakdown on what GLO GANG really means for anyone who was confused. Take a moment out of your day to be blessed by King Sosa.

OG Maco - I Made This Shit Before 'U Guessed It'

OG Maco recently released a project titled I Made This Shit Before 'U Guessed It' which contains 5 unreleased tracks. As suggested by the title, the songs were recorded before the huge success of OG Maco's hit single "U Guessed It." The Atlanta rapper has made his opinion on the loud earworm very clear, calling it one of his "weakest songs ever." With this new project, OG Maco definitely proves to be a diverse artist who can give you much more than some shit to turn up to. You can stream the project below.
